My story
I used to think that the value I brought in my job was the number of new and shiny ideas I could constantly bring forward. It set me up on a track to never stop working, even when my body knew I needed to.
However, I was rewarded for this behavior in my first three promotions. I was told to keep exploring all the things and that I was bringing value in doing so. Naturally, chasing all the shiny objects started to equate to success in my mind. But it was driving me deeper and deeper into burnout.
