If you’re done for the day at 3:30, be done at 3:30

Don't work until 5 since that's what you're supposed to do. Work until you're done.

My story

Slogging through the 9-to-5 is so deeply ingrained in our work culture. It’s a relic that’s starting to crumble but it’s a lasting particle that’s going to be hard to shake – especially as in-office work picks up.

I had a previous job where I usually wrapped up most of my tasks for the day by 3:30. The only problem? I had a boss that managed in a traditional butt-in-seat style and to fulfill my eight hours a day and 40 hours a week.
